Needle grease nozzle is a specialized accessory fitted to grease guns (manual, electric, or pneumatic). It allows lubricant to be delivered into narrow, small, or non-standard grease-entry locations — for example hinges, sliding guides, bushings, or fine grooves in precision machinery.
Main construction
Nozzle body: tubular alloy steel, tapered.
Needle (grease needle): thin cylindrical rod, flat or pointed tip, typical diameter 0.5 – 3 mm, length 30 – 70 mm.
Connector / coupler: standard thread (commonly 1/8" NPT, 1/8" BSP or M10x1) for connection to a flexible hose or directly to the grease gun.
Operating principle
When the grease gun is actuated, pressure pushes grease through the hose to the needle grease nozzle.
The grease is forced through the small-diameter needle, flowing directly into the narrow gap or surface requiring lubrication.
Because of the small needle diameter, the grease flow is low but very precise — suitable for fine adjustment lubrication.
Reference technical specifications
Working pressure: 3,000 – 7,000 psi (≈ 200 – 480 bar), compatible with most pneumatic and electric grease guns.
Inner diameter of the needle hole (grease outlet): 1.2 mm.
Length: 70 mm.
Material: zinc-plated steel.
Thread connection: standard 1/8" NPT / BSP or M10x1.
Typical applications
Door hinges, small joints on cars and motorcycles.
Sliding guides, small bearings in precision machinery, sewing machines, and light industrial equipment.
Agricultural machinery, pumps, fans — where there is no room for a standard grease nipple.
Aerospace and precision engineering — lubrication of extremely narrow points.
Advantages
Injects grease precisely into narrow gaps.
Reduces grease waste and avoids contaminating nearby parts.
Compact construction, easy to install and remove.
Compatible with many types of grease guns.
Disadvantages
Low grease flow — not suitable for high-volume lubrication.
Needle can bend or break if handled improperly.
Requires thorough cleaning after use to avoid clogging the needle.
Usage & maintenance notes
Always tighten the threaded connection securely to prevent grease leakage.
After use, clean the needle nozzle and cover with the protective cap to keep out dust.
Do not use very thick greases (NLGI 3 or higher) because they can clog the needle.
Avoid strong lateral forces on the needle to prevent bending or breakage.
